Chris is a class act, and seems to be enjoying this new musical chapter of his life, making these shows definitely worth seeing. He has one of the most amazing rock voices out there today, which worked really well with the acoustic guitar. He would play eight more cover songs after that (full setlist after the photos), and even sang two songs to vinyl recordings (“When I’m Down” and “Silence the Voices”).Īll in all, he played 33 songs and delivered a performance that clocked in at three hours. He made special mentions of her several times through the course of the night, and even played “Footsteps” (Pearl Jam cover), a song she wanted to hear. Chris, having a daughter of his own, seemed genuinely touched by this. A5 - Borgata Hotel Casino & Spa - Music Box, Atlantic City, NJ on April 15, 2011. AUTHENTIC Chris Cornell SONGBOOK 2011 U.S. He played “ Bones or Birds”, a song only played live acoustically once before, and even played a few verses of “I Will Always Love You” (Dolly Parton cover), which he rarely plays. The lively crowd yelled out songs they wanted to hear, and Chris even played a few rare tunes. The setlist was solid, and included a good mix of songs throughout his career. He’s been playing dates this fall, picking up where his 2011 solo Songbook tour left off, and I was fortunate enough to catch him this past Sunday night at the Calvin Theater in Northampton. In November of 2011, Chris Cornell released Songbook, an acoustic live album that included Soundgarden, Audioslave, Temple of the Dog, solo, and cover songs.
